This is my 18th year to serve in Valley View ISD and my 6th year to teach second grade. I love the eager enthusiasm to learn second graders bring as they step through the door each day.
I started my teaching career in 1988. I served four school districts in Texas (Shallowater ISD, Cleburne ISD, College Station ISD, and Mount Pleasant ISD). Throughout the years, I taught many different grade levels and varied subjects. I began teaching 5th,6th, and 8th grade math and computers. After that, I taught kindergarten. I took a break when my children were young. I spent the next 19 years teaching 3rd and 4th grade. The past 6 years have been in second grade.
My husband is Glen Kersey. He pastored the First Baptist Church in Valley View for almost 25 years before he retired and he is now teaching 5th and 6th grade social studies in the middle school. I have 3 children. My oldest son, Bryan, is an electrician in Keller. He is married to Courtney and they are the parents to my grandson, Andy. My daughter, Callie, works in marketing and advertising in Denver, Colorado. Grant, my youngest son, lives in Plano and works online. I also have a maltipoo named Stella.
My favorite thing to do is to spend time with my family. I enjoy outdoor activities and walking my dog. I also enjoy watching sports of all types, especially football, basketball, and motocross. I like to do various types of art and play the piano. I also enjoy eating out and a girl’s day out for shopping or a mani/pedi.
